Between Earth’s Layers
This proposal of the Iceland Volcano Coffee Shop is to present the materialization of Hverfjall’s as the architecture to the visitor. Whereas the typical building’s composition has a multitude of orthogonal elements which are straight and perpendicular such as walls, roofs and floors, such an approach would not respect the amazing environment. Since the surrounding is special and formed through colliding tectonic plates, the architecture should reflect this process as well.
