House of the Future
The proposal offers a possibility to live with and among nature , translating the architecture itself to the form language of surrounding nature. As such the structure of the columns aligns itself in material, rhythm and simple shape with the surrounding trees. The plateau’s holding rooms offers the inhabitants privacy through the verticality of the forest itself. The higher one goes, the more branches it is surrounded with, finding a more intimate setting with oneself. The design concept has come to rise through the development of urbanisation in most countries. We wanted to offer a compromise or solution to the notion the more we build, more of a natural surrounding has to be destroyed. This proposal offers a possibility of a housing density similar or not more than a typical suburban residential area, where the buildings are not that different from the surrounding that is built. We hope that this sheds a light on how we can co-exist with the nature itself and respect the surrounding eco-system.

The View to the house when entering the house.

(left) This diagram illustrates the need to think differently and go back to the basic morphology of designing when considering the environment.
(Right) A forest can be divided into 3 experiences, from lowest to highest: stems, branches and treetops. The design will emphasize on these values.

The houses are in a module of 3, where one can enter the house first from the central courtyard.
