Nomadic Urban Farms in Tokyo

For people of cities to reach out to agriculture and rural communities, the obstacle of time and distance is too large. The design uses urban farms on vacant plots as social platforms to create a low investment strategy for people to learn from rural communities.

The design recognizes two things: urban land is expensive and the increase of dilapidating empty houses negatively impacts it. When those plots are vacant, the strategy is to rent and occupy them. This design can be easily (dis-)assembled with four people in one day and transported in a semi-truck moving from vacant plot to vacant plot.
